Description
This has a weird story. I attended a workshop session at MomoCon on Saturday night, May 24, which was "Sketching with Sketch" -- that is, Sketch MacQuinor 
of Squidbillies fame. According to the description, he would lead a session to help people learn how to sketch. Problem is, he was expecting to lead a session on how to draw with Flash. Oops.
But Sketch, in his infinite creativity, came up with a fun and interesting session off the top of his head. He would have the attendees, about 60 or 70 of us, come up with the concept for a new cartoon and provide the concept art for it. He suggested at first that we might come up with a new Pokemon character, but that changed as things developed. Still, the cartoon got the name "Momomon" which was a combination of MomoCon and Pokemon.
He polled the room for "things that ought to be in a great cartoon" and was offered a list including super powers, dragons, oversized weapons, explosions, spaceships, and of course, boobs.
He got four volunteers to serve as models for the "good-guy" characters and four for the "bad-guy" characters, then had the remaining people assign names, powers, and weapons to each. Once that was done, he doled out tasks of drawing the characters, the weapons, and the remaining artwork to various teams around the room. Each table was assigned a team name of a Pokemon character. Our table was Mew - that's why "MEW" appears in the corner.
Since I'm not good at drawing characters but much better at drawing things, I was assigned to draw the "bad-guy" spaceship. Sketch said it had to be cool-looking, 'cuz the bad guys always get the coolest stuff! And since the "dragon" item from the list had not yet been used, I decided to give the spaceship a dragon shape. Because of the time involved in handling all the above stuff, we had something like 20 minutes left in which to do our drawings. This is what I came up with in that span of time. Sketch said he thought it was a cool design. Maybe he'll come on over here on DA and give me a critique of it....
